Recipe Romeo ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring your personal information is handled in a safe and responsible manner. This Privacy Policy outlines what information we collect, how it is processed, and your privacy rights across our mobile app and website (reciperomeo.com).
Information Collection and Use
We believe in minimal data collection. We only collect information strictly required to deliver cooking video recipes, offline synchronization, and seamless user experiences:
Saved locally on your device via Android Room database for instant offline access. If signed into an account, favorites sync securely with your cloud profile.
When creating an optional account or using Google Sign-In, we collect your name and email address for authentication and profile management.
We use Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to diagnose crashes, improve app performance, and identify popular recipe categories.
We display non-intrusive banner, native, and rewarded ads via Google AdMob. European users are presented with the Google UMP consent form.
Video Content & YouTube Terms
Recipe Romeo curates cooking videos streamed through official YouTube player embeds and the official YouTube Android Player API.
Device Permissions
The Recipe Romeo Android application requests only the following permissions:
- INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required to fetch recipe feeds, stream cooking videos, and check network availability for offline caching.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+): Optional permission used exclusively to alert you about newly published video recipes and weekly meal planning reminders.
Data Retention & Account Deletion
You have full control over your data. In compliance with Google Play Developer Policies:
In-App Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated synchronized favorites at any time directly within the Profile screen of the Android app.
Manual Request: Alternatively, you can email privacy@reciperomeo.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". All associated personal records will be permanently purged within 7 business days.
Children's Privacy
Our services are directed to a general cooking audience and are not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately so we can remove the data.
